Professionals who attend the full-day event (morning and afternoon sessions) are eligible to earn up to 6.0 Continuing Education (CE) credits: Act 48, Social Work or Nursing CEU.

There is no cost for participants to attend. Materials, light refreshments and lunch will be provided.

Who Should Attend

This full-day event is intended for members of trained OBPP Coordinating Committees and other school personnel who are actively involved in implementing the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program (OBPP) in K-12 school buildings through the HALT! or PA CARES initiatives.

Event Synopsis

OBPP Coordinating Committee workshops provide attendees the opportunity to network with other school teams implementing the OBPP in their school buildings. Best practices in the Olweus model will be highlighted in the morning session, which will also include a panel discussion addressing creative strategies for implementation at various grade levels. The afternoon session features keynote speakers addressing a variety of topics related to bullying prevention in schools. Topic focus will be identified on a regional school-needs basis.
Objectives

  • Identify best practices in implementation of the OBPP.
  • Investigate strategies for overcoming road blocks in OBPP implementation.
  • Network with other schools who are implementing OBPP.
  • Gain feedback from a school that has experienced success with OBPP.
